If you received an email from a “Mary Smart”, wanting to place an order through ZELLE, do not take her order. She’s a scammer. Tell her we only take orders through our personal websites or just ignore her!
Unfortunately every once in a while we receive these emails through our “contact me” button. Here’s a few “rules of thumb”
- Most of the time the emails contain a lot of grammar errors, and a sad story as to why they can’t order the “normal way”. it’s also a long list of products and they want to send you a cashiers check or a certified check. These checks are bogus. Do not accept them
- In the above case, she’s decided to move to ZELLE. Here’s what will happen. She’ll overpay you “by accident”. She’ll ask for a refund, but her payment never goes through. Don’t accept outside payments from people that aren’t from your normal party business.
- Here’s what I always say to them: T”hank you for your interest in Tupperware Brand Products. If you have any questions about our products I will be happy to assist you. When you are ready to order all of our purchases must go through our personal websites, so please visit ______”. Usually the scammers disappear at this point. If they tell you they do not have a credit card, I suggest they visit their local grocery store or Walmart and pick up a prepaid Visa card
