Friday morning in 2022 this horse wasn’t even scheduled to race.
He was put in after another horse scratched.
He was coming off of a five race losing streak.
Odds on this horse were 80 to 1. Coming out of the gate he was last. Coming into the final turn he was 17th out of 20.
But by Saturday evening Rich Strike was the winner of the 2022 Kentucky Derby. Not only that, he also holds the new record for the fastest quarter mile in Kentucky Derby history. 
Sometimes you just have to believe.
